Travelers aboard Allegiant Air flights are getting a valuable surprise this week.
To celebrate Customer Appreciation Week, the low-cost carrier is giving away $250 flight vouchers to customers on its planes, with the airline giving away $1 million worth of flights.
Allegiant staff began surprising travelers with the vouchers on October 6, with pilots announcing at the gate that all travelers on board the plane would receive the free vouchers. On other flights, cabin crew made the announcement mid-air, eliciting applause from surprised passengers.
"This is our way of saying thank you to our customers in a truly special way," said Drew Wells, Allegiant's chief commercial officer. "Our passengers are at the heart of everything we do. Their loyalty has fueled our growth, and this giveaway is our way of letting them know how much we value them."
Travelers who receive the vouchers can redeem them for a roundtrip flight on any of Allegiant’s routes or put them toward add-ons like seat selection or baggage fees.
Allegiant is a leisure-focused airline, with routes from the Midwest and East Coast to popular domestic vacation markets like several oceanside cities in Florida, as well as New Orleans and Alabama’s Gulf Coast.
