Planning a Trip to a new place makes traveler very anxious. Many people start to research in advance which places are the best to visit on the destination. Which clothes you should wear during the trip, how much money you have to carry in cash or if there are possibilities to pay with credit card. In addition to these questions, there is the stress of traveling by itself or fulfilling some requisites to be able to visit the dreamed destination. Thus, in our case, especially with the Galapagos Islands trips and cruises, many travelers want to know the best time for visiting the enchanted islands.

The best answer to this question depends on traveler´s interests and needs. Why? Because depending on the period of the year the visitor will be able to have some experiences related to cruising, landscapes, wildlife, snorkeling, or even diving.

As a way to help potential visitors or their travel assessor to answer this question, Latin Trails gives them the following tips by month highlighting some activities and weather conditions:

1. The first fact that travelers need to take in consideration is that the temperature in the Galapagos Island depends on ocean temperature and the oceanic currents. This creates along the archipelago many micro-climates that help the islands to have a peculiar and particular flora and fauna.

2. Between January and March is the hot weather but rainy period in the Galapagos Islands. March is the hottest month of the year. Thanks to these facts, the vegetation starts to growth, so it can be called the green period. The water temperature is ideal for doing Scuba Diving and Snorkeling.

3. From July to September is the dry season with few spots of rain, so the landscape is dry with minimum vegetation. The water temperature also drops considerably, yet it is the best time for watching marine wildlife because they prefer cold waters.

4. April and May can be considered the best month in the Galapagos Islands. This is due to the perfect combination of weather, wildlife, and water temperature.

5. On May, the blue footed bobbies start their peculiar courtship dance at North Seymour. Also, the marine iguanas´ eggs start to hatch.

6. In June starts the drizzle period, and it is possible to watch many frigate birds flying with the red punch inflated.

7. In July the flightless cormorants do their beautiful courtship ritual at Fernandina Island. During this month, at the same time, it is possible to watch the 4-nesting period of the blue-footed boobies such as eggs, little birds, juvenile boobies, and adult boobies.

8. During August the Galapagos Hawk starts their courtship period. Also, the sea lions start to get birth so it is ideal for watching many baby sea lions at the western and central islands.

9. September is the best moment for watching the Galapagos Penguins either in the surface or underwater as a missile.

10. In October the female Sea Lions are in their stage of zeal, so it is possible to watch the male sea lions barking and fighting for getting the attention of the female one.

11. During November continues the season of baby sea lions with an average age of 3-4 months. Don´t worry if they approach snorkelers and divers to bite their fins. Also, the sea water is very calm during this month.

12. December is the month that starts to rain. The Galapagos Islands become green again. Also, the baby albatrosses start to try fly.
