A new hotel is set to open in Las Vegas, and if you’ve been
to the famous city, you’ve already seen it.
Because of a series of problems, including the recession,
pandemic, and construction issues, The tower, which will host a hotel and
casino, is set to open in December of 2023.
Organizers and city officials announced the news earlier
this week. The Fontainebleau, which operates its signature hotel in Miami
Beach, is a legendary name in the lodging industry. Chief Operating Officer
Colleen Birch said it is "a rich heritage of luxury hospitality, chic
elegance and unforgettable experiences."
When complete, the 3,700-room hotel is expected to bring
thousands of jobs to Las Vegas. And, of course, it will add to the city having
the most hotel rooms in the country. The project began in 2007 and was expected
to open in 2009, but a series of setbacks delayed the hotel.
Now it is officially ready to start booking guests.
It has been a battle, as ownership has changed several times
in the last two decades. Jeffrey Soffer, one of the original Fontainebleau Las
Vegas developers, is back to spearhead the project.
"We are grateful to have the opportunity to finish what
we started and finally introduce the iconic Fontainebleau brand into one of the
world's largest hospitality destinations," Soffer said in 2021.
